Experience Matters

Finding common ground

Over 20 years of legal experience

As an attorney, Tory Vonder Haar gets things done, solves problems, and finds solutions that work for both sides of a case. With 20 years of experience representing governmental entities on issues involving dirt, she has led teams from two to thirty. In less than three years’ time, Tory negotiated to acquire over 250 million dollars worth of land for the State of Texas. While first chairing condemnation and ad valorem tax trials throughout her career, she has gained a deep understanding of the courthouse. As a mediator in land value disputes, she brings a comprehensive knowledge of title and appraisal issues to the table.

Tory Vonder Haar graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Political Science from Texas A&M University and a Juris Doctorate with honors from University of Houston Law Center. She is a past President of Women Professionals in Government and volunteers her time with Girl Scouts of America and the Texas Center for the Missing.  She is a frequent speaker throughout the state on ad valorem tax matters and ethics. Tory and her husband of over 25 years, Pete, have three spunky daughters and a rescue dog named Zuul.
